Rosemount Winter Color Guard Program - hope to return in 2026/2027
In November, the program focus turns to winter guard. Winter guard is the sport of indoor color guard. Modern color guard is a combination of the use of flags, sabers, mock rifles, and other equipment, as well as dance and other interpretive movement. Winter guards can be found in high schools, middle schools, some universities, and also some independent organizations.
The Rosemount Guard program supports 2 winter guard ensembles providing varying levels of the guard experience to our middle school and high school members. The RHS Winterguard performs on weekends in January to April including the North Star Circuit Championships (MN circuit) and the Winterguard International Champions in Dayton, Ohio.
Beginning Flagline Ensemble - hope to return in 2026/2027
(Open to CURRENT 8thGrade Band students from Rosemount Middle & Scott Highland Middle Schools – BOYS AND GIRLS ARE WELCOME)
The purpose of the “Flagline” program is to introduce students to the Rosemount Color Guard program and the Rosemount Marching Band program. By teaching the students fundamental skills on flag, marching, and movement, students incorporate these skills into a routine. The students will perform and demonstrate for friends and family at a couple of metro area shows in February and March.
The RHS Flagline program is a great way to meet other motivated and interested students in a positive atmosphere. The students will learn the value of hard work while gaining new performance skills. Color guard is also an excellent confidence builder as the students learn to work together as a team. Patience, leadership skills, and creative thinking are only a few reasons to be involved with the Rosemount Flagline Color Guard program!
