Rosemount HS Marching Band Irondale “Music of the Knight” Marching Band Show September 24, 2011 Irondale MUSIC OF THE KNIGHT Marching Band Festival Saturday, September 24, 2011 -------------------- 11:15 AM – Everyone report to RHS, load buses **Eat lunch prior to arrival, bring healthy snacks/food for the bus ride *** Bring Full Uniform (in garment bag) and shoes/shako/gloves ****UPON ARRIVAL - EVERYONE hang your uniform (in garment bag) in the SEMI-TRAILER, Shako’s on Trailer shelf •11:45 AM – Depart **Bring Water Bottle and/or extra BOTTLES OF WATER! *Semi-Trailer will be loaded after the football half-time performance Friday 9/23 -------------------- • 12:30 PM – Arrive Edgewood Middle School (4 blocks north of Irondale HS), unload & warm-up • Wear comfortable weather-appropriate clothing (NOT uniform) and SHAKO & SHOW SHOES. If weather is warm: SHOW SHIRT & KHAKI’S •1:45 – 3:15 PM – CLINIC with 3 adjudicators: **Adam Sage – former Caption Head for Carolina Crown & Phantom Regiment Color Guard **Bill Watson – former Band Director at nationally acclaimed Richland HS, Texas & Brass Caption Head – Blue Devils Drum Corps **Jason Bentley – Visual Caption Head for Blue Knights Drum Corps (Denver, CO), from Lexington, Kentucky •Rehearse a bit longer, following the clinic -------------------- 5:00-5:45 PM – SUPPER: Green Mill Pizza & Beverages (provided free to each student) @ Edgewood Middle School -------------------- 5:45 PM - Load buses with instruments, garment bags & shako’s 6:00 PM - Bus to Irondale HS campus •Unload instruments & uniforms into Irondale HS “Rosemount Homeroom Area” •Watch band performances in the stadium •7:30 PM – Change into uniform & head to designated warm-up zone •9:05 PM – Staged at stadium gates •9:20 PM – Rosemount performance •Watch Irondale perform & Awards • 10:15 PM - show ends (approximate time) • 10:45 PM - Depart Irondale • 11:30 PM - Arrive back to RHS (approximate time), EVERYONE MUST HELP UNLOAD EQUIPMENT TRAILER • All students MUST RIDE THE BUS TO & FROM Irondale HS, unless parents have given written authorization to the Band Directors do otherwise in advance --------------------- PARENT / SPECTATOR GENERAL INFORMATION: • Parents, families and friends are highly encouraged to arrive early at this event for the best seats! Stadium seating is general admission, with no reserved seating. The best seats are always high on the 50 yardline, and are available on a “first-come first-serve” basis. It is recommended that you arrive 30-45 minutes prior to the start of the show for best seat selection. • Dress for the weather. Bring blankets, wear Rosemount colors (Blue & Gold), keep warm by sitting with other Rosemount parents/families and CHEER loudly - which is a great way to warm-up and let our kids know that they have enthusiastic fans!!!! •Please cheer for all of the bands & be respectful and encouraging of all bands efforts and hard work! • Parking is limited on campus, on-street parking in residential neighborhoods around the school is available • Admission $8 adults, $5 students/senior citizens. Tickets will be available at the entrance to the field. MOTK T-Shirts will be on sale. All equipment will be stored in the PAC (podiums & stage platforms on choir-gym balcony).
